RENEWABLE ENERGY BUY BACK SCHEME (REBS)
If you use a solar system to generate electricity for your home, you can sell any excess electricity generated by your system, back to your power provider (Horizon Power) through REBS.
This must be approved by the local power provider ie Horizon Power before the system is connected to mains power.

SMALL SCALE TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATES (STC’s)
When you install a solar system you will create Small Scale Technology Certificates (STC’s).
A STC is an electronic, tradeable commodity equal to 1 Megawatt hour of renewable energy generation. The value of a STC fluctuates due to supply and demand. STC’s are issued by the Federal Government as a way of valuing the carbon emissions you are displacing by producing and using solar power.
The value of the STC’s can be offered as a point of sale discount off the cost of your system and are available on completion of the system installation.
